KerfCalc ("the app") is a set of woodworking calculators — unit conversion, board feet, shelf spacing, cut list optimisation, finish quantities and reference tables. This policy explains what the app does with information you put into it. It is short because the app does very little.
Everything you enter is written to a database on your device and never leaves it:
None of this is transmitted, backed up to us, or shared with anyone. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
The app declares network permissions, and it is fair to ask why, given the above. They are required by the app-store billing library that handles the one-time paid unlock:
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
INTERNET |
Google Play Billing contacts Google to confirm and restore your purchase. |
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE |
Used by the same billing library to tell a connection problem from a refusal. |
com.android.vending.BILLING |
Required to offer an in-app purchase at all. |
KerfCalc itself makes no network requests. All calculations run on the device, and the app is designed to work with no signal at all — including keeping your paid unlock available offline.
The paid unlock is a single one-time purchase. It is processed entirely by Google Play (or the App Store on iOS). We never see your payment details, billing address, or account. The app only ever learns whether the purchase was made, and stores that one fact on your device.
The app can export a cut list or your inventory as a CSV file, which it hands to your device's standard share sheet. Where that file goes is entirely your choice — email, a messaging app, cloud storage, or local files. The app does not upload it anywhere, and does not keep a copy beyond a temporary file used to perform the share.
KerfCalc is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
If the app ever gains a feature that changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the effective date at the top will change.
